Still Relishing the Challenge!
October 2007 - Kansas City Power & Light selects Exothermic Engineering
The proposal team of Power & Industrial Services (the prime bidder), Exothermic Engineering, and Enerfab received word in late October that their proposal had been accepted by Kansas City Power & Light for an EPC contract to retrofit KCP&L's Unit 1 with new Low NOX Burners (LNB) and Overfire Air (OFA). The project consists of designing, fabricating, constructing, tuning and testing 56 new LNBs, 18 OFA ports, and controls for the new system. Testing and optimization of all seven B&W mills is also part of the project scope. Equipment is to be installed during the fall 2008 unit outage.
